Core Rotation and 40 - 60 Yard Shots

  • No Power Shots — No Weight Shift
  • Closer to the Ball
  • Taller Posture
  • Club Shaft More Vertical
  • Weight on Left Heel
  • Core Must Rotate in One Spot
  • Longer Shots Require a Bigger Core Rotation
  • Brush the Ball Off the Ground
  • No Need to Hit Down Sharply on the Ball
  • Keep the Bottom of the Arc in the Same Place
If you don’t need power to hit a short shot, you don’t need weight shift. Core rotation is under used, and weight shift is generally over used, so reduce weight shift and increase core rotation. The arms should move complementary to the core rotation.
