Player’s Guide to Slopes and Directions
- When Properly Struck from Slopes, the Ball Will Not Go Straight
- Directions Below Are Noted Without Additional Curve
With a properly struck shot, the sole of the club matches the slope you are playing from. With changes in clubs — loft — there is a change in distance and direction.
The bottom line is: When properly struck, a ball above your feet will be pulled or hooked, while a ball below your feet will be pushed or sliced. Grass conditions can add to or detract from these numbers.
